What Is Roller Derby?
Roller derby is currently one of the world’s fastest growing sports, with over 70 teams in the UK. November 2011 even saw the first ever roller derby world cup, with England getting an impressive 3rd place (below USA and Canada and just above Australia).
The game involves two team and is made up for 2 minute "jams". A jam involves one skater from each team attempting to lap members of the opposition for points, with a lot of bumps and bruises along the way.
If you're still confused on the day, there are plenty of staff on hand to explain!
